Sex in Marriage: Final Thoughts

Over the past few weeks, we have covered a lot of topics concerning the sexual relationship in marriage.  One of my greatest concerns from counseling experience is that very few couples talk about their sexual relationship.

You need to talk about it.  Talk about what you like.  Set aside special times together for romance.  Plan getaways for the two of you.  You need to be as purposeful about your sexual relationship in marriage as you are about the other areas.  It is a gift from God.  I know that is a difficult concept for many of you.  Maybe this will help.  Take a look at this passage from the Song of Soloman Chapter 4 and verses 5-7.

5 Your breasts are like fawns, twins of a gazelle, grazing among the first spring flowers. 6 The sweet, fragrant curves of your body, the soft, spiced contours of your flesh Invite me, and I come. I stay until dawn breathes its light and night slips away.7 You're beautiful from head to toe, my dear love, beautiful beyond compare, absolutely flawless.

Solomon is not only talking about his wife's beauty but also about making love to her all night long.  He cherishes her from head to toe.  That is incredibly sensual.  God created the sexual relationship.  God is not a prude.  When enjoyed in the context of marriage  it can be the best sex ever.  Don't miss out on what God has for you in this area of your marriage.

We would love your comments on this Sex in Marriage series.  Thanks for being a part of the Awesome Marriage Tribe.
