💡 Pro Tip: Keep your phones on silent so you can be fully present with each other!

Step 1: The Preparation (Before Date Night)

Before your date, both spouses will write a letter to each other using the following prompts:

  1. One thing I deeply admire about you.

  2. A moment in our relationship where I knew God was moving.

  3. My favorite thing about living life with you.

  4. A prayer for our future together.

Seal the letter and bring it to the date.

Step 2: Your Date Night

1. Set the Atmosphere

  • Light candles or dim the lights.

  • Put on your playlist.

  • Pray together, thanking God for your marriage.

2. Letter Exchange & Reading

  • Take turns reading your letters to each other aloud.

  • After reading, take a few moments to reflect, ask questions, and express appreciation.

3. Print out this free couples card game

Using the prompts on the cards to deepen your emotional intimacy.

4.  The "Love Bank" Activity

How It Works:

  • Grab a small jar, box, or envelope—this will be your Love Bank.

  • Each of you writes 5-7 “love deposits” on small slips of paper. These are specific, meaningful actions you will do for each other over the next month.

    • Examples:

      • "A spontaneous 10-minute back rub."

      • "A day where I take care of all your responsibilities."

      • "A prayer spoken over you when you least expect it."

      • "A special date night planned just for you."

  • Fold the slips and place them in the Love Bank. Over the next month, randomly pull out one to surprise and bless each other.

5. The “10-Year Time Capsule” Activity ⏳

💡 How It Works:

  • Grab a small box, envelope, or even a mason jar. This will be your Marriage Time Capsule.

  • Each of you writes down answers to the following:

    1. What I love most about our marriage right now

    2. Where do I hope to see us in 10 years? (Spiritually, emotionally, as a family, in ministry, in our love for each other.)

    3. A verse or prayer that I want to speak over our marriage for the next decade.

    4. One thing I promise to do this year to love you even better.

Seal your notes and place them in the capsule. You can also add small keepsakes like a recent photo, a meaningful object, or even a small item that represents your relationship at this moment.

Decide on a future date (like your 10th, 15th, or 20th anniversary) when you’ll open it together.

6. Small Surprise Gift Exchange

Exchange your small sentimental gifts and explain why you chose them.

Bonus Challenge:

One week after your date, write a follow-up love note and hide it somewhere your spouse will find it. Keep the intentionality going!
