"Single and Waiting" by Dr. Kim

I know many of you who are in our “I Want An Awesome Marriage’ tribe are single.  Some of you have been is bad marriages that ended.  Some of you have waited a long time to be married to the right person.  Some of you are dating now and wondering if this is the one for you.  Some of you are engaged and waiting for your special day to come.  Being single is tough.  It has been a long time since I was single but I can still remember the pain that often went along with my singleness because I wanted so much to be married.  

Let me talk a minute to those of you who are single and waiting.  Anytime we have to wait is tough.  We get impatient easily.  We do not like to wait for our food at the restaurant.  We do not like to wait in traffic.  We do not like to wait at the doctor’s office and we sure do not like to wait for our perfect mate to show up.  But what happens when we get impatient and just settle for the person who happens to be around instead of waiting for the right one?  Usually it ends in disaster - disaster spelled DIVORCE.  I wish I had some fool proof plan to share with you in your time of waiting but I don’t.  What I can do is encourage you to keep waiting, to not compromise, and never to just settle.  Waiting is hard but I promise you the wait is worth it.
