An Intentional Challenge

This has been a great month at Awesome Marriage. We released five great podcasts featuring the AM Podcast Team, Ron and Deb DeArmond, and Jamie Ivey. We began the new One Thing each day of the week (Monday through Friday). You can sign up to get this in your inbox daily here

We also have a new weekly email for AM Tribe Members, and you can get your name on our list here. God is giving us amazing opportunities to share His plan for relationships and marriage. Finally, we now will have a different focus each month. This month we focused on Intentional Love. Hopefully some of the things you have heard, viewed, or read on Intentional Love this month have made sense to you and given you some ideas of how to be more intentional in your marriage.

As we wrap up July, I want to leave you with a challenge:

  • Sit down with your spouse. Each of you come up with two things you would like to do together to be more intentional in your love for each other. Maybe it is a date night each week, or praying together, or spending time together in the evenings, or anything that works for the two of you. It is your choice.

  • Write each idea down on a piece of paper and fold each paper. Scatter the papers on a table. Pick one. (If you fight over who picks, flip a coin!)

  • Talk about how you both can be intentional about carrying that idea out for the next month.

  • Start tomorrow—and be intentional about carrying it out every day or week (depending on what you chose).

  • Do this for one month. Hopefully by then it will have become a regular part of your marriage. It takes three weeks to make something a habit.

  • Now you can go back to your folded pieces of paper and pick a new one to add for the next month.

  • We would love to hear your story on this. Please send it to christina@awesomemarriage.com
