“Family, Friends, and Dating” by Dr. Kim
I asked this question, "How important is it to you that your friends and family like the person you are dating?" Here are some of the responses.
Erica: “I have found that its very important for me that my family, not so much my friends, like who I'm dating. I've been in that situation before and it was not pretty. My family could see what I couldn't and they were right. I've since learned to rely on my family as well to determine if he is a positive match for me.”
Kyleigh: “To be honest - it should not matter. It should be how you feel about them. i see it as if your friends and family like him its a bonus. Your friends and family will soon grow to know him more and like him. If both your hearts are in the same place and you both love God and make him the centre, then you will become one in God. Work together.”
Ryan: “I don't think it is a question of liking. I think it is a question of accepting. It is important to remember the person you are dating should make you happy and likewise you make that person happy. With my Mom, I think she likes any woman that makes me happy, but I'm single right now so that situation has been rendered moot.”
Ann: “The only one that needs to like who I date is my daughter. :)”
Now it's your turn. What do you think?
