Social Media Manager for Awesome Marriage

Awesome Marriage exists to help hurting couples heal, healthy marriages grow, and families stay together. We create Christ-centered resources, tools, courses, and content designed to strengthen marriages and help couples put God at the center of their relationship.

We are looking for a creative, organized, and mission-driven Social Media Manager to help us expand our reach, create engaging content, and build meaningful connections with our online community.

The Social Media Manager will oversee the creation, scheduling, publishing, and community engagement for Awesome Marriage's social media platforms, including Awesome Marriage's Instagram, Dr. Kim Kimberling's Instagram, and YouTube.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys both the creative and relational sides of social media. The ideal candidate is a strong writer, has an eye for design, can edit engaging short-form videos (Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts), and understands how to create content that resonates with an audience.

This person will work closely with our content production team to turn existing resources, podcast episodes, video footage, and new ideas into compelling social media content.

This role is also responsible for both engaging with and answering comments and DMs across Instagram, YouTube, and other digital platforms. 

This position requires a proactive self-starter who is resourceful, eager to learn, and comfortable working independently in a remote environment.

Employment Type: Part-Time, Flexible Working Hours

Hours: Approximately 18-20 hours per week with room for growth

Location: This position is 90% remote with just some in person content filming in Edmond, OK. 

Compensation: $1,500 a month

Specific Job Duties:

  • Plan, curate, and create engaging social media content for Awesome Marriage's Instagram, Dr. Kim's Instagram, and YouTube.

    • 5 Instagram posts every week on Awesome Marriage’s Instagram (combination of posts and reels)

    • 5 Instagram posts every week on Dr. Kim’s Instagram (combination of posts and reels)

    • 5 YouTube Shorts every week

    • Posting the full Podcast Video on YouTube 

  • This role is supported by a Creative Lead and Social Media Consultant so content is more curation than creation. We have lots of great content already to curate from!

  • Design high-quality graphics, carousels, thumbnails and other visual content that align with our brand.

  • Edit short-form vertical videos for Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts, including captions, hooks, transitions, and other engaging elements.

  • Write compelling social media captions that reflect Awesome Marriage's voice, mission, and biblical values.

  • Maintain an organized content calendar and ensure posts are scheduled and published consistently.

  • Coordinate with our Creative Lead, Filmmaker, Video Editor, Project Manager, Dr. Kim and other team members to obtain the content and assets needed for publication.

  • Support the promotion of ministry resources, webinars, podcasts, and fundraising campaigns through social media.

  • Monitor and respond to comments and direct messages across all Awesome Marriage and Dr. Kim social media accounts.

  • Proactively engage with our online audience to encourage conversation, build community, and strengthen relationships with followers.

  • Respond to customer-service-related inquiries, including questions about resources, purchases, online courses, memberships, webinars, and other Awesome Marriage offerings.

  • Respond to prayer requests and marriage-related messages with compassion, encouragement, and biblical sensitivity, following ministry guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • Experience managing social media accounts for a brand, business, nonprofit, or organization.

  • Strong graphic design skills and experience with tools such as Canva or similar platforms.

  • Experience editing short-form vertical video content for Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts.

  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.

  • Ability to create compelling hooks, captions, and content that encourage meaningful engagement.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

  • Familiarity with social media scheduling tools and content management workflows.

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to respond thoughtfully to sensitive messages.

  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and collaborate with a remote team.

  • Alignment with Awesome Marriage's Christian mission and biblical approach to marriage.
