I am often asked, “How do I meet the right person?”
That is a tough question. However, let me begin answering it by talking about where you will not usually meet the right person. If you are hanging out in places that you would not take your parents, you probably are not going to meet the right person there.
Unfortunately, that does not mean that every place you would take your parents is a good place to meet the right person. Take church for instance. Just because someone walks through the doors of a church does not automatically qualify them to be on your list of possibilities. You still have to observe them. See how they act around others. See how they treat people. Find out what they believe in and what they value. Give yourself time. Do not be in a hurry.
Going back to the original question. Honestly, you can meet the right person in a number of places. The key is getting to know that person and guarding your heart in the process. Once you let your heart go, it is often too late to get it back.
Baby steps are great. Giant steps can get you in a lot of trouble. Remember what I said last time. An ‘awesome marriage’ starts with two ‘awesome people’.
Do not settle for anything less.
