Pastor Benjamin Arazu: Togetherness in everything and prayer.

Dr. Kim: What is different in your marriage as compared to your parents marriage?

Pastor Benjamin Arazu: Togetherness. My wives parents are not together.  Even my parents are not together also. So we agreed to stay together for life.

Dr. Kim: If there was one message you could share from the experiences of your marriage with the rest of the world, what would it be?

Pastor Benjamin Arazu: Always know your partner have all it take to make a mistake so get ready to clean it up and life goes on. Forgive before they asked for forgiveness .

Dr. Kim: Is there anything else you would like to share with us?

Pastor Benjamin Arazu: Marriage is covenant not contract.

Dr. Kim: How is your marriage different today (good or bad) as compared to the beginning?

Pastor Benjamin Araxu: Haha! When we have problem between us before, people used to come in to speak to us to make peace . But if we have such problem now we take care of it our own. And it has been great.

Dr. Kim: What are some of the actions you take to maintain a strong marriage?

Pastor Benjamin Araxu: I have to forgive before my wife says she is sorry. I  try to be a peace maker, not a peace keeper. Many people can keep peace but they cannot make peace. So I told the Lord I will like to make peace but and its not easy but God has heledp me.  Also i know that my wife can make mistakes, so I am ready for them before they comes up.

Dr. Kim: What sets your marriage apart from other marriages around you?

Pastor Benjamin Araxu: We fear God.

Dr. Kim interviews Pastor Benjamin Arazu who lives in Nigeria as part of Awesome Marriage Global. This is the second of four parts in this interview as Pastor Benjamin talks about marriage.

Dr. Kim: What are the Top 5 most important components of a healthy marriage? Pastor Behjamin Arazu: Looking back where we started and where we are now, I can see what helped us.

1. I was able to discerne God's leading that she would be my wife. She didn't just agree because I said so. She had to go to God in prayer and it was made know unto her that  I am her man. So our foundation was build on prayers and hearing from God. So a healthy marriage must be build on the strong foundation of Gods word.

2. We look at marriage as a covenant not contract.

3. We try to understand each other. Most problems in the family arise because of a lack of understanding of the basic differences between the makeup, the outlook, and the ability of the man or the woman. 4. We are both naked.  Which means that she knows everything about me and I know everything about her.  Also it has been helping us even till now.

5. We love each other to death.

Dr. Kim: How have you seen God work in your marriage? Has He done anything specific? Has He changed one or both of you in monumental ways?

Pastor Benjanin: God has been with us since we started and now we got married when both of us were doing nothing that bring money into our home. We met in the mission field and the Lord spoke to us that we are made to be together, and I went to talk to her pastor and  told her my intention and she said I should give her time to pray. And after a few weeks her pastor called and told me that she agreed. But we were not working in any company and had no money.  So the two of us joined the evangelism team of our church . We said to God we didn't have money and that we are going to  use our time to serve Him. We joined the team and we suffered in my ways, some weeks no food to eat.  I keep on telling my wife God will do what only He is capable of doing in our life and destiny. We lived from hand to mouth for more than five years, we saw God supernaturally make ways for us. I remember one Sunday we went to church without eatting not because we didn't want to eat, but because we didn't have anything in our home. So when we came back from the church we were sleeping in our house and somebody knocked at our door and I came out and its a lot of food from somebody we do not know that the Lord asked her to come to our house with all the foods she brought to us. But now its not as it was. God has opened up our ways.  We feed a lot of people and orphans now. And for years we had a problem in the area of having children but now we had three children to the glory of His name.
